Invoices and monthly billing in Grow

Branded invoices from your own company, payments tracked, thank-you receipts, and monthly invoices that go out on their own with one reminder before they are due.

Grow can now invoice your clients for you: branded PDFs, payments tracked, and monthly invoices that go out on their own. Everything below is in Grow → Invoices.

Add your company once

Click Add company and fill in your legal name, company number, VAT number if you have one, address, email and bank details. Pick an invoice prefix such as INV, and your invoices are numbered INV-0001, INV-0002 and so on, separately for each company you bill from.

Every invoice carries your agency logo and your details, and the bank details clients need to pay you. If your company is VAT-registered, VAT is added for you.

Then set Who bills whom for each client, so Grow knows which of your companies invoices them.

Raise an invoice

Click New invoice and choose the client. Their monthly fee is filled in for you, and you can change it or add lines — a website build, hosting, extra work. The total updates as you type.

  • From a proposal: on a client with a proposal, Create invoice from proposal fills the lines from what they agreed.
  • Invoice date: it's today by default. To record an invoice you made outside Grow, set an earlier date — up to a year back.

Saving makes a numbered draft. Nothing is sent until you send it.

Send it and get paid

  • Send emails the PDF with a short covering note you can edit.
  • Mark paid when the money arrives. A thank-you email opens, ready to send, with a copy of the invoice stamped PAID.
  • Once a client pays, they move from onboarding to active automatically.

Monthly billing on autopilot

For clients on a monthly fee, tick Bill monthly, choose the day they pay, and whether each invoice is for the month just ended or the month ahead. From then on:

  • The invoice is emailed on the last working day of the month before it's due. For a client who pays on the 9th, October's invoice goes out on Friday 30 October.
  • If it isn't marked paid, the client gets one reminder 3 days before it's due, with the invoice attached.
  • If it goes overdue, you get one alert. Nothing further goes to the client — chasing is your call.
  • You get a copy of every email, and Send me a test shows you exactly what your client will receive.

Each monthly invoice copies the wording of the client's last invoice and changes the month, so it reads the way you wrote it.

Everything that was sent

Grow → Sent emails lists every invoice, proposal and SEO report Grow has emailed for you, with the exact letter and links that went.
